Allotment Associations & Horticultural Groups in Harrow, Middlesex

1. Choose a Site

Choose a site from our allotments in Harrow map
Click on a site to find out about plot numbers and a link to a detailed streetmap
Further information on each allotment is in the allotment sites list.

To find your way to an allotment site by public transport, find its postcode in the allotment sites list then enter this into Transport for London's Journey Planner

N.B. As we do not have access to Harrow Council's Allotment tenancy agreements it is difficult for us to know exactly how many vacancies there are on any one site. We gather information from our site representatives and members, on a regular basis, who know from experience if plots are being worked.

2. Choose Your Plot Size (plots are measured in poles!)

The current price (for 2023-2024 period) of an allotment for a 10 pole plot with water would be £96.00 per annum which is made up of £6.40 p.a. per pole and £3.20 p.a. per pole for water. You would need to check with Harrow Council Allotments Dept. for the most up to date rates.

On some allotments 5 pole plots may be available.

The concessionary rate would be £3.20 p.a. per pole and £3.20 p.a. per pole for water, (there is no concessionary rate for water) making a total of £64.00 per annum for tenants who may qualify for a concessionary rate (senior citizens, students and residents receiving benefits e.g Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance).

A 50% discount may also be available for new tenants in their first year, this needs to be checked with Harrow Council.

Please note: Harrow in LEAF is not part of Harrow Council, it is a separate voluntary organisation. For the latest information on allotment availability, prices and concessions you should contact Harrow Council directly.

What is a pole?, you ask: it is a pre-Metric measurement of 5.5 yards, and can also apply to an area of 5.5 yards by 5.5 yards. This means there are 160 poles to an acre.

For the geeks and pub quizzers: 4 poles = 1 chain = 1 cricket pitch!!!
